A historic street where Republican-era Western architecture meets traditional local building styles. The name carries a story most visitors never hear: an ancient Yunnan official transporting a white elephant to the emperor found the animal refusing to move at this exact spot. When local masters confirmed the site had exceptional fengshui, the place was named White Elephant Street.
